We have been approached by Jill Hipsey, Chair of the Maeldune Trust, about volunteering opportunities – see below.

We at the Maeldune Heritage Centre are in need of Volunteers. Most pressing is the need for an Independent Examiner, to examine our books as required by the Charity Commission. It is an annual task to examine our books and records, and report, as required by the Charity Commission, that our annual account is in accordance with those records. A working knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting procedures is needed. We are also looking for more Trustees to increase our board diversity. Becoming a trustee with us will give you a sense of pride in promoting Maldon and its history to local visitors and those from further afield. Finally, we are always looking for volunteers in the Centre, either at the Visitor Information desk, greeting visitors and helping with information; or in the Craft shop, welcoming and assisting customers and promoting local arts and crafts.
