From the Chair - July 2024

Well hello and welcome to another edition of our monthly u3a magazine.

This month has been a month of firsts for me, my first introduction at our monthly meeting with the subject being the theories surrounding Crop Circles, an excellent speaker and so many questions from the audience.

My other first was to visit the archaeology group’s dig having been invited by Sue Spiers the group leader, I was fascinated to see how History is being uncovered and brought to life by her dedicated team, and I very much look forward to revisiting the site.

This month has also been busy for the committee with preparations underway for our u3a stand on the Burnham Carnival, and although we have some volunteers to help with the day we could do with a few more. If you could give just a couple of hours to help us spread the
word and explain what the u3a means to you, please contact me.

Finally we are looking at ways to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Burnham’s u3a so please watch this space for details.

That’s all from me, fingers crossed that summer has finally arrived!
